Nothing contours up summer quite like the image of a Lolita-esq girl with bronzed, colt-like limbs, lolling around in the summer sunshine, sucking on a popsicle. Lips stained fruity shades of strawberry, watermelon, apricot, cherry, raspberry and peach. Whether you prefer to wear your bright pout in glossy, glazed shades or barely-there tints, pair back with nude or minimal make up to make the colour pop.
I have written about how much my skin loves jojoba oil before and this exfoliator by The Jojoba Company is easily the best exfoliate I have ever tried. Hands down. Big claim, I know, but nothing works as beautifully as this product to rid my skin of any flaky, dryness while also providing a burst of hydration.
The title of this post is pretty gruesome- animal fat and tissue and blood and bones and hoofs and horns and feathers and organs all being an ingredient in your skincare, make up, shampoos and body care products. Your conditioner has cow hoof in it and your eye shadow has animal tissues & fat.
People are become aware of the cruelty involved with slaughterhouses. Meatfree is a common word, think of all the meat free Monday type campaigns. Avoiding meat is no longer unusual. The reality of eating meat- the routine slaughter of animals raised by the meat industry, the pollution to the environment, the unsuitability the plight & stress of the abboitor workers. No one thinks about the parts of the animal that are left over, useless for human consumption. The skeleton and the hooves or the feathers and the organs. What happens to all that…stuff?
On her eyes, the actress wears mascara but no eye shadow (“it takes too long”) and eyeliner, sometimes. “If I wore eyeliner on my bottom lashes in L.A. at 1 in the afternoon, I would look a little crazy, because I have such dark features anyway,” she says. “It would just look like I forgot to take my makeup off from the night before.” Her hair? Yep, you guessed it. Air-dried.
The Yes To Carrots brand has been one of the favoured cruelty free cosmetics brands in the market for a while. But suddenly, they were no longer registered with PETA, no longer using their logo and customers were left confused. Several conflicting responses were received from various Yes To representatives and marketing statements on their websites and social media. What happened?
I usually overlook Altuzarra’s collections during fashion week- I am not sure why, perhaps because they never seem to get the amount of media coverage as their other NYFW counterparts. However this season their beauty looks captured my attention and are my standout pick of beauty looks for NYFW this season.
I used to be obsessed with tanning. I would sun bake at the beach slathered in coconut oil and/or I would layer upon layer of fake tan. Now, 10 years later, I am happy with my porcelain skin. I actually like being pale. However when it comes to my legs, I am less peaches & cream, more translucent that can glow in the dark. I like a little bit of a light glow to them. I love my gradual tanning moisturisers.
